Genesis Half Marathon Training
The fall 2014 half marathon training starts on Tuesday, September 2nd in Hurricane. Training will last for 9 weeks to prepare for the Marshall University Half Marathon on Sunday, November 2nd. Check out the highlight video from the 2012 season.

About the training
Who: For runners with at least six months of running experience. Minimum requirements prior to week 1 is a long run of 6 miles, 15 weekly miles, and a 5k time of 35 minutes or faster.
What: Training on general principles for endurance training, race specific workouts to develop speed and endurance, and coaching on specific types of workouts like hill repeats, pace intervals, pace runs and aerobic development.
When: Meet every Tuesday night at 6:00 pm for group training sessions.
Where: We’ll meet each week at Valley Park in Hurricane to start our workouts.
Why: For those seeking professional coaching and advice to try their first half marathon or to improve on their half marathon PR. Coaching generally appeals to runners who like structure, discipline and accountability.
Registration includes weekly group coaching sessions, training plans, weekly messages with workout specifics, race course preview, discounts from partners, a New Balalnce (TM) Dri-fit style Genesis Running team shirt and a finishers award. We’ll also discuss all of the necessities such as nutrition, hydration, and strength training for runners.
Groups are limited to 30 runners.
